Sustainability is a core value at ID Card Centre, so we’re dedicated to working with events companies of all sizes to offer the best green solutions. We’re aware that there’s a global issue when it comes to plastic pollution, and that’s why we’re collaborating with organisations such as Plastic Bank to offset the potential waste that our PVC products may produce if disposed of incorrectly. We also look at ways of preventing the use of plastics where they aren’t necessary.
It has been widely publicised that the supposedly eco-friendly oxo-degradable additive used in many PVCs is in fact harmful to the environment, and the EU is now looking to ban it from use. ID Card Centre have always been against the use of this additive.
We have several solutions available for both standard and oversized cards, including a natural alternative to PVC. This can be personalised in full colour and is degradable.
Printing high volumes of single use event passes onto PVC may be wasteful, and they often end up in a landfill as they can only be recycled by specialists, a service ID Card Centre offers. An eco-friendly alternative is cardboard CR80 (standard credit card) sized cards. They can still be personalised with a dye sublimation card printer and can help you reduce plastic without compromising the quality of your passes. These cards are just as durable but can only be printed with monochrome black.
Place recycling units at exit points of your venue so people can discard their passes easily. They can be recycled with your ordinary collection to be broken down into raw material and used in the production of new paper-based products. Shred before recycling to protect any personal data.
The Evolis paper cards are sourced from material grown in sustainable forests. They also meet the standard for compostability and are biodegradable in the natural environment within 2-6 weeks.
For an out of the box green printing solution, our brand-new Eco Printer Bundle contains everything you need to produce and issue event passes. The included Evolis Zenius printer comes with a black wax ribbon and 100 paper cards so you can easily produce high-quality monochrome passes. It even comes with easy-to-use design software and 100 black recycled PET lanyards so your attendees can display their badges.
The printer is compact, meaning it’s perfect for transporting and using on a small tabletop within an event space. You can also integrate it into a kiosk for contactless badge issuance. With a sound level of only 48 dB, it won’t disrupt the nearby environment.
Keeping staff and attendees safe and your site secure is something event organisers know a lot about, but Covid restrictions have presented new challenges with ticketing and entry timings. Silicone wristbands can be supplied with contactless technology for safe, practical access control.
Wristbands are perfect for use with ticketing, cashless vending, or area management, and are re-writeable so you can use them for different attendees and requirements. They’re also durable, scratch-resistant, tear-resistant, and waterproof so can be sanitised between uses.
The technology chip within the wristband is small and encased in silicone so there’s no risk of it being a nuisance when worn. They’re comfortable to wear, available in a range of colours, and can be branded with your logo to match your event.
