ISO 20121: Events Sustainability Management Systems is developed by national ‘standards bodies’ and it provides a framework and the essential elements for an effective sustainability management approach for events. It’s also suitable for organisations working within events (eg contractors and venues.)

It’s not a checklist and it’s not something you ‘follow’ step by step.

Rather it helps you set up a rigorous and responsive approach to event sustainability management, and includes approaches proven to ensure enduring success.

The standard was launched in 2012 and updated in 2024. www.iso.org/standard/86389.html
