Over 970 food banks, one mission: saving food and helping people in poverty.
With 60,000 helpers, the food banks are one of the largest social-ecological movements in Germany. Every year they save around 265,000 tons of food and distribute it to 1.6 to 2 million people. The food banks are organized in the umbrella organization Tafel Deutschland eV
